- Interestingly enough, the NRA does support these ideas. I'm an ex-NRA member, hunter safety instructor, handgun instructor, liberal, feminist college professor. I only dropped my NRA membership because of financial exigencies. The NRA supports responsible firearm ownership -- always has.
